Cocktail of the Month: Tuscan Mule

A derivative of its cousin the famous 'Moscow Mule' its newer (and much more delicious I might add) competition is the 'Tuscan Mule'.

The cocktail is based around a new liquer called Tuaca. It recently found its place in the Australian market but has hit hard and is making its way into the cocktail scene in a big way. I first came across Tuaca at the glamorous
Luxe Bar at a special invite cocktail master class. There was an intimate group of about 20 and we were all given the opportunity to make about 5 cocktails with the special ingredient being Tuaca. It was a fun evening and I met some lovely people, but I was more impressed with the Tuaca itself.

What is Tuaca? I hear you say! Well, its coined as an Italian liquer with a hint of citrus and vanilla. Usually, I am not a massive fan of 'flavoured liquers' as they are most often too sweet. In the case of Tuaca, it is mildly sweet, and the citrus and spices served with each mixer really bought out an amazing variety of tastes. My favourite of the 5 we made definately being the Tuscan Mule.

So anyway, on to the fun part, how to make the mule:
Ingredients:
50ml Tuaca
Ginger Ale
3 Fresh Lime Wedges
Method:
Fill a highball glass with cubed ice. Squeeze and drop in 3 fresh lime wedges. Pour in 50ml of Tuaca and top up with ginger ale. Garnish with mint sprig or lime wedge.

So there you have it. A fabulously fresh, tasty and soul soothing cocktail for those balmy summer nights that are soon to be upon us. Team it with a hot maxi dress, some killer wedges and a statement necklace and you will turn heads at every corner!
